What does a tree service website actually cost?

Most marketing companies will not put a number on a page, which is its own answer. Here are real ranges, what sits behind each one, and what we charge.

The four tiers you will run into

What you payWhat you getThe catch
$0–500A free builder site or a cousin’s favorUsually on a free subdomain, slow on phones, invisible to Google, nobody maintains it
$1,500–3,000A small shop or freelancer builds you five pagesFine work, then it sits. No listings, no reviews, no towns, nothing after handoff
$5,000–12,000A built site plus the local work: listings, towns, reviews, trackingThe real range for a company that wants the phone to ring
$12,000–24,000+A full agency buildOften a bigger version of the same thing, with account managers in the price

Then there is the monthly, which is where the outcome actually lives: typically $500 to $3,000 a month for listings, content, reviews and ads management. Anything under about $500 a month is usually templated and unattended.

Why the cheap site costs more

A $500 site is not a bargain if nobody finds it. Do the math the way you price a job: if being invisible costs you two removals a month at $3,000 each, the cheap site costs you $72,000 a year to save $4,500 once.

The other hidden cost is ownership. Plenty of cheap builds live on somebody else's account. When you leave, the site leaves with them.

Questions to ask anybody quoting you

  1. Do I own the domain and the site if I leave?
  2. Is the price a build, or a build plus monthly? What is each?
  3. Who fixes my Google, Apple and Bing listings, and is that included?
  4. What happens after launch, in writing?
  5. Can I see a site you built for a tree company and call that owner?
  6. What do I get every month that shows me it is working?

A company that dodges any of those is telling you something.

What we charge

Websites from $5,000, priced by the size of your crew. A one-truck operation and a company running cranes do not need the same thing. Half down, half when it is done. No financing, no long contract.

Monthly from $750/mo, by how many towns you want to own:

PlanMonthlyTowns
3 towns$750/moUp to 3 towns
6 towns$1,150/moUp to 6 towns
12 towns$1,750/moUp to 12 towns
County-wide$3,050/moCounty or region

Answered phone, day and night, is an add-on from $500 a month.

Ad budget is paid to Google or Meta directly and is not part of the monthly. You own your site and domain from day one, and the plan is month to month.

Roughly: the site is what two removals bring in, the monthly is about one job a month.
